RESOLUTION NO. 050925

 

Recognizing Terry Ward for successful fulfillment of his duties as chair of the 2005 Charter Review Commission;

 

WHEREAS, Terry Ward has served honorably and faithfully as head of the 2005 Charter Review Commission, and is hereby being publicly lauded and thanked for his work; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2005 Charter Review Commission met from February 2005 through July 2005, and during that time the commission examined the existing City Charter with the purpose of eliminating archaic regulations and creating recommendations for a more functional charter that better serves the City and its residents; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Ward has always been mindful of public service, and has contributed his time and expertise to the Local Investment Commission (LINC), the United Way, and is an active member of the North Kansas City Board of Education; and

 

WHEREAS, currently, Mr. Ward is the Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Development and School-Based Programs at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Previous employment included positions at J. E. Dunn and Company and H.& R. Block; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council thank Terry Ward for successful fulfillment of his duties as chair of the 2005 Charter Review Commission; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread among the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr. Ward with the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for his many hours of service to the City.
