ORDINANCE NO. [R-2012-01140]

 

Authorizing the Director of Neighborhoods and Housing Services to amend the contract with Truman Medical Center to extend time and the dollar amount that will provide mental health services to inmates participating in the Bridges Program.

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 080759 authorized the Director of Neighborhoods and Housing Services to accept and approve a Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City grant in the amount of $900,000.00 for the benefit of inmates at the Municipal Correctional Institution; and

 

WHEREAS, the City amendment of the existing contract with Truman Medical Center will continue mental health and services for inmates at the Regional Correctional Center; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Neighborhoods and Housing Services is authorized to enter into a contract amendment with Truman Medical Center in the amount of $60,755.00 to provide mental health services to inmates participating in the Bridges Program. This amendment extends the current contract to September 30, 2013 and increases the total contract amount to $449,755.00.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Neighborhoods and Housing Services is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $60,755.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 13-1000-575800-B to satisfy the cost of the contract amendment.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
