ORDINANCE NO. 900626

 

Accepting and approving on behalf of the City contracts with the United States Department of Health and Human Services funding the Injury Control Intervention Project for one year beginning September 29, 1990, in the amount of $98,777.00, with the Missouri Department of Health funding the School Health Clinics under the Expanded School Health Services Project for one year beginning October 1, 1990, in the amount of $250,375.00, and with the Missouri Department of Health funding the Maternal and Child Health Project for one year beginning October 1, 1990, in the amount of $982,549.00, and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the contract between the United States

Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Service, acting through its Director of Administration, and the Health Department of Kansas City, acting through its Director of Health, funding the Injury Control Intervention Project, in the amount of $98,777.00 for the period of one year beginning September 29, 1990, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the contract between the State of Missouri,

Department of Health, Personal Health Services Bureau, acting through its Director of Administration, and the Health Department of Kansas City acting through its Director of Health, funding the School Health Clinics under the Expanded School Health Services Project in the amount of $250,375.00 for the period of one year beginning October 1, 1990, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 3. That the contract between the State of Missouri,

Department of Health, Personal Health Services Bureau, acting through its Director of Administration, and the Health Department of Kansas City acting through its Director of Health, funding the Maternal and Child Health Project in the amount of $982,549.00 for the period of one year beginning October 1, 1990, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 4. That this ordinance, making provision for the

expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15, of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise

unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
