RESOLUTION NO. 160957

 

Honoring Lynda Hoffman on her retirement after 13 years of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, Lynda started working for the City in the Public Works Department Special Projects Division in 2003 as a Senior Registered Engineer serving as the Blue River Section Manager; and

 

WHEREAS, in 2004, Special Projects Division (to be renamed Waterways Division) along with Lynda transferred to the Water Services Department; and

 

WHEREAS, Lynda accepted the Position of Acting Waterways Division Manager in 2008 and was promoted to Waterways Division Manager in 2011; and

 

WHEREAS, Lynda has provided an exceptional level of service on behalf of Water Services, the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and the greater metropolitan area; through her guidance and leadership in working with local, state and federal organizations, over $141 million in federal funding was secured and authorization received for critical flood risk management and infrastructure projects done in cooperation with the United States Army Corps of Engineers along Kansas City’s major waterways including the Missouri River, Turkey Creek, Line Creek, and multiple projects on the Blue River, and Brush Creek; and

 

WHEREAS, Lynda’s efforts have been instrumental in protecting public and private investment, catalyzing development throughout the Midwest region, and providing a more promising future for Kansas City and its citizens; and

 

WHEREAS, Lynda looks forward to her retirement to continue enjoying God’s gift of health and strength, enjoying life, her husband, her children, and friends; and

 

WHEREAS, December 30, 2016, will mark the last day of Lynda’s career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Mrs. Lynda Hoffman, on the occasion of her retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for her future, together with appreciation for her 13 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Mrs. Lynda Hoffman in token of the Mayor and Council’s respect and high regard and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which she so richly deserves.
