ORDINANCE NO. 900731

 

Accepting and approving a contract with Truman Medical Center whereby the Center will provide obstetrical services to high-risk patients for which the City will pay $96,000.00 in previously appropriated funds; providing for the expense of administering the contract; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and Truman Medical Center, a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, acting through its Executive Director, for the period October 1, 1990, through September 30, 1991, in an amount not to exceed $96,000.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 1-50229-B by Ordinance Number 65379, whereby TMC will deliver obstetrical services to high-risk patients is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the amount of $2,880.00 as specified in the contract may be retained by the Health Department to partially offset the cost of the agreement and may be used in such manner and for such purposes as the Director of Health may determine.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, making provision for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
