ORDINANCE NO. 140290

 

Authorizing a contract for approximately $2,640,000.00 with JM Fahey for the resurfacing of various streets generally between the Missouri River and 63rd Street; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a $2,638,999.00 contract with JM Fahey for the resurfacing of various streets in the 2014-2015 season as shown in Contract 14-2 and the performance of other incidental and related work in Kansas City, Missouri, generally between the Missouri River and 63rd Street from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 15-3090-897701-B-89STPRES, Street Preservation. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works and is incorporated herein by reference.

Section 2. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
