RESOLUTION NO. 180220

 

Honoring Naurice V. Brown on the occasion of her retirement after more than 23 years of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri Human Relations Department.

 

WHEREAS, Naurice V. Brown has been employed by the City of Kansas City, Missouri since 1994 and retiring from public service on March 30, 2018; and

 

WHEREAS, Naurice started her career as an Information Processer II in the Human Relations Department and advanced to the position of Senior Administrative Assistant in 2008; and

 

WHEREAS, during Naurice’s tenure as a Senior Administrative Assistant, she participated in planning and coordinating significant public events including the Human Relations Department’s Annual Civil Rights Summit; and

 

WHEREAS, in addition to her daily job assignments and responsibilities, Naurice has served as the cohost for the trailblazing radio show “Discrimination – Report it Don’t Ignore It”; and

 

WHEREAS, Naurice demonstrated her passion for continuous learning by completing the prestigious U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s National Fair Housing Training Academy; and

 

WHEREAS, Naurice is known among her colleagues for her professionalism, care and compassion which has earned admiration and respect from her department; and

 

WHEREAS, Naurice has been faithful to her duties always showing her dedication, spirit and commitment to civil rights and human rights; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Naurice V. Brown, on the occasion of her retirement from public service, the heartiest best wishes for her future, together with appreciation for over 23 years of dedicated and devoted service to the citizens of this great City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof, and that a copy hereof be presented to Ms. Naurice V. Brown in token of the Mayor and Council’s respect, high regard, and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which she so richly deserves.
