ORDINANCE NO. 910677

Amending the Administrative Code of Kansas City by repealing Section A2.2 thereof and enacting in lieu thereof a new section of like number and subject matter entitled Regular City Council Meetings.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section A. That Section A2.2, "Regular City Council Meetings" of the Administrative Code of Kansas City, Missouri, is hereby repealed and a new section of like number and subject is hereby enacted, said section to read as follows:

Section A2.2. Regular City Council Meetings.

(a) Evening Meeting. The City Council shall meet in regular session on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in locations to be determined by the Mayor in each councilmanic district. The monthly evening meeting shall be rotated each month among the councilmanic districts so that it shall be held no more than two (2) times per year in any one councilmanic district.

(b) Weekday Meetings. Except as provided in subsection (a) above, the City Council shall meet in regular session on Thursday of each week at 3:00 p.m.; provided that when Thursday of any week shall be a legal holiday or a holiday for all regular City employees except members of the firefighting service, as provided in Article VIII, Section A8.16(a) of this Code, or shall fall on the twenty-fourth or thirty-first day of December, the regular meeting of the City Council shall be held on Wednesday of that week at the same hour; and provided further, that the inaugural meeting of the City Council after each regular election, as required by Article II, Section 8 of the Charter, shall constitute the regular meeting of the City Council for that week. The place of meeting shall be the Council Chamber of the City Hall.
