RESOLUTION NO. 081240

 

Congratulating the Wet Weather Community Panel for their dedication and service to Kansas City.

 

WHEREAS, the Wet Weather Community Panel was established in 2003 by the Mayor to obtain public input that reflects a balance of interests for the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

WHEREAS, this community panel was seated with a group of neighborhood representatives, business leaders, community leaders, and environmental interests; and

 

WHEREAS, the members of this community panel are: Carol Grimaldi (chair), Carol Adams, JC Alonzo, Ron Borst, Stephanie Burton, Rich Caplan, James Cianciaruso, Tom Corso, Dr. Ray Coveney, Richard DeHart, John Dillingham, Diane Doran, Kimberlee Foster, Kirk Gastinger, Jamie Green, Dave Hawes, Brenner Holland, Tom Jacobs, Duane Kelly, Jim Kissick, Tim Kristl, Margaret May, Dave Mecklenburg, Ginny Moore, Phelps Murdock, Dr. John Neuberger, Dr. Deborah OBannon, Larry ODonnell, Phil Perry, Derek Ramsay, Jim Rice, Aggie Stackhaus, Jay Stock, Curtis Urness, Rita Valenciano, Carolyn Vellar, Lillie Walker, and Don Wilkison; and

 

WHEREAS, the Wet Weather Community Panel developed guiding principles and objectives to help shape a plan to address sewer overflows, stormwater management, waterway uses, and related matters; and

 

WHEREAS, this community panel provided valuable insight that lead to City-wide policies concerning green solutions and stream buffers; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby congratulate the Wet Weather Community Panel for their dedication and service to Kansas City; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that copies hereof be presented to the Wet Weather Community Panel with the appreciation of the Mayor, Council and citizens of Kansas City for the many hours dedicated to making Kansas City a better place to live.
