ORDINANCE NO. 150366

 

Accepting and approving an $18,000.00 grant from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to conduct Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) monitoring activities in the Kansas City area; designating requisitioning authority; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a grant award agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the State will provide funding to conduct Ebola Virus Disease active monitoring activities for travelers with identified epidemiologic risk factors to ensure appropriate assessment and treatment for the period beginning December 22, 2014 through May 15, 2015, for an amount not to exceed $18,000.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the grant award agreement, in substantial form, is attached and made a part by reference.

 

Section 2. That revenue in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

 

16-2480-500001-479650-G50504715 Ebola Virus Disease

Monitoring $18,000.00

 

Section 3. That the sum of $18,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Governmental Grants Fund in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund:

 

16-2480-505047-A-G50504715 Ebola Virus Disease

Monitoring $10,000.00

16-2480-505047-B-G50504715 Ebola Virus Disease

Monitoring 5,000.00

16-2480-505047-C-G50504715 Ebola Virus Disease

Monitoring 3,000.00

TOTAL $18,000.00

 

Section 4. That the Director of Health is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 16-2480-505047-G50504715 and is authorized to expend the sum of $18,000.00 from funds heretofore appropriated to the account.

 

Section 5. That this ordinance, appropriating money, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(C) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
