RESOLUTION

Amending the Blue Ridge Corridor
Project Plan by amending the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for an area of
approximately 3 acres generally located at the northwest corner of E. 87th
Street and Fremont Avenue from residential to commercial. (403-S-5)
WHEREAS, on
October 25, 1990, the City Council by Committee Substitute Resolution No.
900404 adopted the Blue Ridge Corridor Project Plan, as a guide for the future
development and redevelopment of the area bounded on the north by 83rd Street,
on the south by Grandview city limits, on the east by James A. Reed Road, and on
the west by I-435/71 Highway; and
WHEREAS, on
January 23, 1992, the City Council amended said Plan by modifying that area
generally located at the northeast corner of 102nd and Blue Ridge Boulevard
from office to commercial development; and
WHEREAS, after
further review, it has been deemed appropriate to amend the Blue Ridge Corridor
Project Plan and Map as it affects that area of approximately 3 acres generally
located at the northwest corner of E. 87th Street and Fremont Avenue, from residential
to commercial; and
WHEREAS, the
City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Plan
and Map on April 21, 2015; and
WHEREAS, after
all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City
Plan Commission did on April 21, 2015 recommend approval of the proposed
amendment to the Blue Ridge Corridor Project Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That the
Blue Ridge Corridor Project Plan is hereby amended as to the Proposed Land Use
Plan and Map for that area of approximately 3 acres generally located at the
northwest corner of E. 87th Street and Fremont Avenue, from residential to commercial.
A copy of the amendment to the Blue Ridge Corridor Project Plan is attached
hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference.
Section B. That the
amendment to the Blue Ridge Corridor Project Plan is consistent and complies
with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan, adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee
Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the
FOCUS Kansas City Plan.
Section C. That the
Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed
amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by the Zoning
Ordinance have been given and had.
