ORDINANCE NO. 070148

 

Accepting and approving a grant to the City of $913,632.00 over five years from the United States Department of Homeland Security Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program; estimating revenue in the amount of $137,136.00 in the General Fund; designating requisitioning authority; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Fire is hereby authorized to accept a grant from the United States Department of Homeland Security Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program in the amount of $913,632.00 to be paid over five years according to a decreasing Federal share formula.

 

Section. 2. That the revenue in the following account of the General Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount for FY 2006-2007:

 

06-1000-235004-478395 USFA SAFER Grant $137,136.00

 

Section 3. That the sum of $137,136.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account in the General Fund:

 

06-1000-235004-B USFA SAFER Grant $137,136.00

 

Section 4. That the Director of Fire is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No 06-1000-235004.

 

Section 5. That this Ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the City Charter in that it appropriates money and shall take effect in accordance with that section.
