ORDINANCE NO. 120266
Authorizing the Director of Water
Services Department to enter into contracts with Pyramid Excavation and
Construction, Inc., for Contract No. 8428, and Black and Veatch Corporation,
Contract No. 8833, Raw Water Supply Piping and Valve Improvements, Project No.
80001643; and authorizing expenditures of approximately $2,100,000.00.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
the Director of Water Services Department is hereby authorized to execute, on
behalf of Kansas City, Contract No. 8428, Project No. 80001643, with Pyramid
Excavation and Construction, Inc., for construction of an additional raw water
inlet at the Water Treatment Plant and Intake for the Raw Water Supply Piping
and Valve Improvements project. A copy of the contract is on file in the office
of the Director of Water Services.
Section 2. That
the Director of Water Services Department is hereby authorized to execute, on
behalf of Kansas City, Contract No. 8833, Project No. 80001643, with Black and
Veatch Corporation, for construction phase office and field support services,
resident project representative services, and project closeout services for the
Raw Water Supply Piping and Valve Improvements project. A copy of the contract
is on file in the office of the Director of Water Services.
Section 3. That
the Director of Water Services is authorized to expend up to the sum of
$2,100,000.00, from funds previously appropriated to Account No.
AL-8072-808084-B, Water & Sewer CD4, including contingencies, to satisfy
the cost of this contract.

I hereby certify
that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the
appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash
balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund
from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby
incurred.
