COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE
FOR ORDINANCE NO. 150567
Authorizing
a Third Amendment to an Agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. for approximately
$700,000.00 for the Downtown Streetcar Transit System; appropriating $1,627,500
from the Unappropriated Fund Balance in
the Streetcar Fund to the Streetcar Authority account; and recognizing this ordinance as having an
accelerated effective date.
WHEREAS, the
City, the Kansas City Streetcar Authority, and the Kansas City Downtown
Streetcar Transportation Development District have mutually agreed that
$1,627,500 of the surplus funds in the Streetcar Fund shall be used for
outstanding project needs including insurance, furnishings, technology and a
wheel truing machine for the vehicle maintenance facility; and an additional
allocation to the Authority Operating and Maintenance Reserve; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of the Public Works
Department is hereby authorized to execute a $699,713.00 third amendment to an
agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc., for Project No. 89022000 - Downtown
Streetcar Transit System from funds previously appropriated to Account No.
AL-3428-898044-B-89022000. A copy of the amendment is on file in the Public
Works Department and is incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. That
the sum of $1,627,500.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund
Balance in the Streetcar Fund to the following accounts:
16-2085-121452-B Streetcar
Authority $1,462,500.00
16-2085-078044-B-07001200 Streetcar
Furnishings 165,000.00
TOTAL $1,627,500.00
Section 3. That
this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of
a public improvement and that it appropriates money, is recognized as an
ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section
503(a)(3)(C) and (D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance
with Section 503, City Charter.

hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit
of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a
cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the
fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation
hereby incurred.
