ORDINANCE NO. 980095

 

Authorizing a seven month $32,084.00 contract with the Samuel U. Rodgers Community Center to provide infant mortality reduction interventions and services and authorizing the Director of Health upon successful completion of the terms and conditions of the contract and allocation of additional funds in the annual budget, to exercise an option to extend the term of the contract for an additional five months with a combined total funding not to exceed $55,000.00.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Samuel U. Rodgers Community Center, acting through its officer of executory authority, to provide infant mortality reduction interventions and services, for the period October 1, 1997 through April 30, 1998, for an amount not to exceed $32,084.00, from funds previously appropriated in Ordinance No. 970359 in Account No. 98-100-050-2141, is hereby authorized. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That one month prior to the expiration of this contract and upon successful completion of the terms and conditions of the contract cited in Section 2, the Director of Health may exercise an option to extend the term of this agreement for an additional five months utilizing such funds as may be allocated by the City Council for this purpose in its annual budget. The combined total funding for the contract and the amendment shall not exceed $55,000.00.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
