ORDINANCE
NO. 200494
Authorizing the Director of
Health to execute a KC-GO service contract with Youth Ambassadors in an amount
not to exceed $25,000.00 for education and outreach services to prevent and
reduce intentional injuries among youth; and recognizing this ordinance as
having an accelerated effective date.
WHEREAS, Committee
Substitute for Ordinance No. 200399, as amended, requires the City Council to
approve certain professional services contracts; and
WHEREAS, the
Kansas City, Missouri Health Department is committed to improving the quality
of life for all Kansas City residents through the reduction and prevention of
violence and promotion of peaceful conflict resolution; and
WHEREAS, this
KC-GO service contract will help to ensure that youth will receive the
education and training to empower and encourage them to resist the pressure of
turning to violence as a solution for conflict; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY
THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
the Director of Health is authorized to execute a KC-GO service contract in an
amount not to exceed $25,000.00 with Youth Ambassadors for education and
outreach services to prevent and reduce intentional injuries among youth from
funds previously appropriated in Account No. 21-2480-505803-B.
Section 2. That
this ordinance is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date
as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(B) of the City Charter and shall take effect
in accordance with Section 503 of the City Charter.

I hereby certify that
there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation
to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance,
otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which
payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
