ORDINANCE NO. 080788

 

Accepting and approving a one-year $17,490.00 contract with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to conduct preventive health screening of all newly arriving refugees in Kansas City; increasing revenue in the amount of $14,575.00 and reducing appropriations in the amount of $2,915.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will provide funding for health screenings, including assessments of immunization status and examinations for tuberculosis, parasites and Hepatitis B to newly arriving refugees for the period beginning July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, for a total amount not to exceed $17,490.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the revenue in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is hereby increased in the following amount:

 

09-2480-500001-475300 Refugee Health Screening $14,575.00

 

Section 3. That the appropriations in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is hereby reduced by the following amount:

 

09-2480-505408-A Refugee Health Screening $ 2,915.00

Section 4. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $14,575.00 from funds heretofore appropriated to Account No. 09-2480-505408 for the aforesaid contract.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
