ORDINANCE NO. 180945

 

Authorizing the Manager of Procurement Services to execute a contract amendment with the Regional Justice Information Service Commission (REJIS) and the Board of Police Commissioners to continue to provide the existing court management system and law enforcement related products and services with funds previously appropriated; and authorizing the Manager of Procurement Services to execute additional contract extensions, amendments, or new contract.

 

WHEREAS, the Regional Justice Information Service Commission (“REJIS”) provides the existing court management system and services to the City and related law enforcement products and services to City and Kansas City Police Department (“KCPD”); and

 

WHEREAS, the State of Missouri Office of State Courts Administrator is developing a new case management system that all municipalities will be required to use; and

 

WHEREAS, the City may need to continue to use REJIS until such time as a new statewide system is developed, tested and implemented; and

 

WHEREAS, City and KCPD use some of REJIS law enforcement products and related services and need to continue using the products and services until the City and/or KCPD implement new solutions; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Manager of Procurement Services is authorized to execute a contract amendment with the Regional Justice Information Service Commission and the Board of Police Commissioners to continue to provide the existing court management system and law enforcement related products and services with funds previously appropriated.

 

Section 2. That the Manager of Procurement Services is authorized to execute contract extensions, contract amendments, and a new contract with the Regional Justice Information Service Commission with such funds as appropriated in the annual budget without additional Council authorization.
