ORDINANCE NO. 170106

 

Accepting and approving a one-year grant award in the amount of $2,043,272.00 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to provide funding for Ryan White Part A and Minority AIDS Initiative services.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a one-year grant award agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Division of the Health Resources Administration (“HRSA”), whereby the HRSA will provide funding for persons living with HIV/AIDS in the eleven county TGA (“transitional grant area”) for a period beginning March 1, 2017 through February 28, 2018, for an amount not to exceed $2,043,272.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the award, in substantial form, on file with the Director of Health.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Health is authorized to expend the sum of $1,759,361.00 from funds appropriated to Account No. 17-2730-505003-G50244818 and $97,295.00 from funds appropriated to Account No. 17-2730-505019-G50501918 for the aforesaid contract.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
