COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE
FOR ORDINANCE NO. 120549
Authorizing the Director of
General Services to execute an agreement with the Negro League Baseball Museum;
authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Kansas City
Convention and Visitors Association; appropriating $134,000.00 from the Convention
and Tourism Fund for facilities improvements in preparation for the 2012 Major
League Baseball All-Star Game and events; appropriating $250,000.00 from the
Convention and Tourism Fund to the Kansas City Convention and Visitors
Association; and designating requisitioning authority.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
the Director of General Services Department is hereby authorized to execute an
agreement with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in the amount of $134,000.00
for capital improvements which would increase the capacity of the museum to
host additional visitors to the facility during 2012 Major League Baseball
All-Star Game and related events.
Section 2. That the
City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the Kansas City
Convention and Visitors Association in the amount of $250,000.00 for the
promotion of tourism, convention business, and many attractions, facilities,
and enterprises within Kansas City during the 2012 Major League Baseball
All-Star Game and related events.
Section 3. That
$384,000.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the
Convention and Tourism Fund to the following accounts:
13-2360-071726-B Negro
Leagues Baseball Museum $134,000.00
13-2360-101112-B Convention
and Visitors Association 250,000.00
TOTAL $384,000.00
Section 4. That the
Director of General Services Department is hereby designated requisitioning
authority for Account No. 13-2360-071726.

I hereby certify that
there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation
to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance,
otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which
payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
