RESOLUTION NO. 001563

Authorizing an application to the Missouri Development Finance Board (MDFB) for state funding up to the amount of $1,500,000.00 for roadway and public trail infrastructure improvements in the Lewis and Clark Redevelopment District located in Kansas Citys Central Industrial District; finding that the proposed improvements will benefit the public.

WHEREAS, Kansas City is working cooperatively with public and private interests in support of Brownfield redevelopment efforts in Kansas Citys Central Industrial District in the West Bottoms; and

WHEREAS, Kansas City has identified funds appropriated by the Missouri General Assembly to the Department of Economic Development that may be available to fund these infrastructure improvements; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Council does hereby authorize the Director of Public Works to make an application to MDFB for a grant in the amount of $1,500,000.00 to be used for redevelopment of an area in the Central Industrial District known as the Lewis and Clark Redevelopment District that includes roadway and public trail infrastructure improvements.

Section 2. That the Council states that the proposed capital improvements in the Lewis and Clark Redevelopment District in the Central Industrial District will benefit the public and provide recreational opportunities for the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri.
