RESOLUTION NO. 100282
Amending
the Gashland Area Plan and Map for an area of approximately 100 acres generally
bounded by N.W. Barry Road on the south, U.S. Highway 169 on the west, N.W.
88th Street on the north and N. Baltimore Avenue and N. Wyandotte Avenue on
the east, by recommending medium density residential and office commercial and
retail commercial uses instead of low density residential, open space and
retail commercial uses. (215-S-21)
WHEREAS, on
February 11, 1977, the City Council, through the adoption of Resolution No.
47383, adopted the Gashland Area Plan being the Plan for development and
redevelopment of that area bounded by 96th Street on the north, the city limits
of Gladstone on the south except at the extreme eastern limits which extend
south to Pleasant Valley Road, N. Brighton Avenue on the east and the
Clay-Platte County line on the west; and
WHEREAS, said Gashland Area Plan was amended through
the adoption of Resolution No. 971066 on October 9, 1997; was amended through
the adoption of Resolution No. 980922 on September 24, 1998; was amended
through the adoption of Resolution No. 991459 on March 23, 2000; was amended
through the adoption of Resolution No. 010516 on April 26, 2001; was amended
through the adoption of Resolution No. 011046 on August 23, 2001; was amended
through the adoption of Resolution No. 030859 on August 21, 2003; was amended
through the adoption of Resolution No. 031394 on April 1, 2004; was amended
through the adoption of Resolution No. 050526 on May 26, 2005; was amended
through the adoption of Resolution No. 050749 on July 7, 2005; and was amended
through the adoption of Resolution No. 061132 on November 16, 2006; was amended
through the adoption of Resolution No. 070204 on
March 8, 2007, was amended on October 18,
2008, through the adoption of Resolution No. 070998; and was further amended on
February 25, 2010, through the adoption of Resolution No. 100111; and .
WHEREAS, the
City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Plan
and Map on ______________; and
WHEREAS, after
all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City
Plan Commission did on __________________, recommend approval of the proposed amendment
to the Gashland Area Plan and Map; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That
the Gashland Area Plan is hereby amended as to the Proposed Land Use Plan and
Map for that area of approximately 100 acres generally bounded by N.W. Barry
Road on the south, U.S. Highway 169 on the west, N.W. 88th Street on the north
and N. Baltimore Avenue and N. Wyandotte Avenue on the east, by recommending medium
density residential and office commercial and retail commercial uses instead of
low density residential, open space and retail commercial uses. A copy of the amendment to the Gashland Area Plan is
attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference.
Section B. That the amendment to the Gashland Area Plan is
consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan, adopted on October 30,
1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a
supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.
Section C. That
the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed
amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by the Zoning
Ordinance have been given and had.
