ORDINANCE NO. 120304, AS AMENDED
Authorizing execution of a
contract amendment with Swope Community Builders in the amount of $102,027.50
for the provision of housing development services to the City under the
Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG).
WHEREAS,
Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 100145, adopted on March 11, 2010,
approved the 2010 One-Year Action Plan; and
WHEREAS, on May
28, 2010, the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved
the City’s 2010 One-Year Action Plan; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance
No. 100485, passed by City Council on June 24, 2010, authorized the Director to
enter into contracts to provide services as outlined in the 2010 One-Year
Action Plan; and
WHEREAS, the
City needs to obtain additional services from Swope Community Builders under
the Mt. Cleveland Estates project; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
the Interim Director of Housing and Community Development is hereby authorized
to enter into an amendment to Contract No. 11012 to increase the maximum amount
of compensation that the City may pay Swope Community Builders by $102,027.50
for a total contract amount of $332,427.50. A copy of the contract amendment,
in substantial form, is on file in the office of the Interim Director of Housing
and Community Development and is incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. That
the Interim Director of Housing and Community Development is authorized to
expend an additional $102,027.50 for the contract amendment from Account No.
12-2600-555317-B.

I hereby certify
that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the
appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash
balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund
from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby
incurred.
