RESOLUTION NO. 961487
Amending Resolution No. 941771 by reaffirming the
establishment of a Development Process Advisory Committee; designating
appointments and redefining the purpose of the committee to analyze the City's
ordinances, regulations and procedures to assure long term quality residential
development.
WHEREAS, the continued economic viability and
stability of the City is dependent on future quality residential development;
and
WHEREAS, it is imperative that the City's
residential development ordinances, regulations and procedures protect the
public from future problems related to siltation and erosion control; and
WHEREAS, it is also important that the City's
regulations be fairly applied to all residential developers with regard to
contributions and public improvements requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to reaffirm the
establishment of a Development Process Advisory Committee for residential
development and to redefine its role; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That Resolution No. 941771 is hereby
amended by reaffirming the establishment of a Development Process Advisory
Committee and redefining its role as it relates to residential development.
Section 2. That the Development Process Advisory
Committee shall be composed of the following individuals: Ora Reynolds,
Charles Miller, Jerry Nelson, Philip Carey, Julie Sutter, Marilyn Lewis, Tim
Harris, Chuck Weber and Charles Gatson.
Section 3. That the Development Process Advisory
Committee is hereby directed to review and analyze the City's ordinances,
regulations and procedures as they relate to residential development so as to
make recommendations to enhance long term quality residential development, to
insure timely processing of proposals and application of building regulations
which assure affordable housing development. Said Committee is specifically
directed to analyze existing policies and identified problems related to
siltation and erosion control, public improvement requirements, building codes
and regulations, and to make recommendations for improvements to said
policies/problems. Said Committee shall issue a final report one year after
preliminary reports issued by the Committee every ninety (90) days.
