ORDINANCE NO. 081049

 

Accepting and approving a $726,981.00 contract amendment with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services that provides funding for the Citys Public Health Preparedness and the Cities Readiness programs; increasing revenues in the amount of $234,708.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund; and increasing appropriations in the amount of $432,183.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a one year contract amendment between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting though its Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will provide funding for both the Public Health Preparedness and Cities Readiness programs in the Kansas City, Missouri area for a period beginning August 10, 2008 through August 9, 2009, for an amount not to exceed $726,981.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That revenue in the following accounts of the Governmental Grants Fund are hereby increased by the following amounts:

 

09-2480-500001-477255 Cities Readiness $134,487.00 09-2480-500001-475560 Public Health Preparedness $100,221.00

 

Section 3. That appropriation in the following accounts of the Governmental Grants Fund are hereby increased by the following amounts:

 

09-2480-505014-A Cities Readiness $ 52,262.00

09-2480-505014-B Cities Readiness 50,675.00

09-2480-505014-C Cities Readiness 51,333.00 TOTAL $ 154,270.00

 

09-2480-505409-A Public Health Preparedness $ 144,000.00

09-2480-505409-B Public Health Preparedness 81,667.00

09-2480-505409-C Public Health Preparedness 52,246.00

TOTAL $ 277,913.00

 

Section 4. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $484,654.00 from funds heretofore appropriated to Account Nos. 09-2480-505409 and 09-2480-505014 for the aforesaid contract.

 

Section 5. That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the City Charter in that appropriates money, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
