ORDINANCE NO. 900727
Reducing the appropriation in certain accounts in the
Capital Improvements Fund and appropriating funds to accounts for the purpose
of completing design work for public improvements in Hospital Hill, designating
the Director of City Development as the requisitioning authority, and
expressing the intent of the City Council to fund the Public Improvements
Project in Fiscal Year 1991.

WHEREAS, the designated developer for Phase I of the
redevelopment project of the Hospital Hill Urban Renewal Area has initiated
certain actions to commence the construction of the project; and
WHEREAS, the developer will be assisted in meeting
various deadlines related to the project if the design work for associated
public improvements is completed prior to the 1991 construction season; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the appropriations in the following
accounts of the Capital Improvements Fund are hereby reduced by the following
amounts:
9-40542T Economic Development Initiatives $
75,000.00 9-40910T Curbs and Sidewalks -- CD 2
75,000.00 TOTAL $150,000.00
Section 2. That the sum of $150,000.00 is hereby
appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Capital Improvements
Fund, Account No. 9-801, to the following accounts in the Capital Improvements
Fund:
9-15713T Hospital Hill Redevelopment $
75,000.00 9-15719T Hospital Hill Neighborhood
Redevelopment -- CD 2 75,000.00
TOTAL
$150,000.00
Section 3. That the Director of City Development is
hereby designated as the requisitioning authority for Account No. 9-15719.
Section 4. That the City Council hereby expresses
its intent to provide sales tax funds in an amount not to exceed $400,000.00
for public improvements to the Phase I Hospital Hill Redevelopment site in
Fiscal Year 1991-1992.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
