RESOLUTION NO. 150404
Honoring Dr. Todd E. White for
his service to the North Kansas City Schools.
WHEREAS, Dr.
White is retiring from North Kansas City Schools after 6 years of leadership;
and
WHEREAS, Dr.
White has seen the implementation of 1:1 Apple computing for the district’s
high school students and 4:1 computing for its middle and elementary schools;
and
WHEREAS, he is a
champion of hands-on learning for students and was instrumental in bringing the
Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies, a collaboration between
seven North of the River school districts, to fruition; and
WHEREAS,
partnerships with Northland businesses and municipalities were a priority for
Dr. White, with the most recent alliance being with Gladstone producing a
Northland Innovation Campus, soon to be the new home of NKC Schools gifted
programs; and
WHEREAS, North
Kansas City Schools has seen such a rise in their State scores that they are
considered the most rapidly improving school district in the state when compared
to like schools; and
WHEREAS, under
Dr. White’s leadership, NKC Schools is graduating more students than ever
before with 93.4% of their seniors graduating; and
WHEREAS, Dr.
White was the honored recipient of the 2013 Pearce Award from the Missouri
Association of School Administrators; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor
and Council hereby honor Dr. Todd E. White for his service to the North Kansas
City Schools; and
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in
testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Dr. Todd E. White with
the appreciation of the Mayor, Council and citizens of Kansas City for his
outstanding job in the North Kansas City Schools and
wishing him the best in any future endeavors.
