ORDINANCE NO. 120566
Accepting and approving two
one-year contracts with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
in the amounts of $50,000.00 for Region A and $36,000.00 for Region D to
provide funding for tobacco use prevention and control activities; and increasing
appropriations in the amount of $4,430.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
contracts between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its
Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services,
acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the Missouri Department
of Health and Senior Services will provide funding for tobacco use prevention
and control activities for the period of June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013, in
amounts not to exceed $50,000.00 for Region A and $36,000.00 for Region D, are
hereby accepted and approved. Copies of the contracts, in substantial form,
are attached.
Section 2. That
the revenue in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is
increased by the following amount:
13-2480-500001-473660-G50238014A Tobacco
Control – Reg.A $12,781.00
Section 3. That
the appropriation in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is
increased by the following amount:
13-2480-505406-B-G50238014A Tobacco
Control – Reg A $ 4,430.00
Section 4. That
the Director of Health is hereby authorized to expend the sums of $46,817.00
from funds appropriated to Account No. 13-2480-505406-G50238014A and $33,696.00
from funds appropriated to Account No. 13-2480-505406-G50238014D for the
aforesaid contracts.

I hereby certify that
there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation
to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance,
otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which
payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
