ORDINANCE NO. 970925
Authorizing a one year $1,633,196.00 agreement with
Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust to provide emergency ambulance services
in Kansas City, Missouri; and recognizing an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That an agreement between the City,
acting through its Director of Health, and the Metropolitan Ambulance Services
Trust (MAST), whereby MAST will provide emergency ambulance services in Kansas
City, Missouri, for a one year period from May 1, 1997 through April 30, 1998,
is hereby authorized. A copy of the agreement, in substantial form, is
attached hereto and is made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the sum of $1,633,196.00 to be paid
to MAST during the one year period from May 1, 1997 through April 30, 1998,
from funds provided in the 1997-98 Budget, Ordinance No. 970358, in Account
Nos. 100-051-2140-B and 233-051-2140-F, is approved.
Section 3. That this ordinance, making provision
for the current expenses of the municipal government, is hereby recognized as
an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the
Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately
I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
