ORDINANCE NO. 110766

 

Authorizing the Director of Public Works to enter into a municipal agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission related to improvements to Flintlock Road; and recognizing an emergency.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Liberty, Missouri has obtained a federal surface transportation program grant over $19.2 million to construct the Flintlock Road extension over I-35; and

 

WHEREAS; the Flintlock Road extension project includes improvements to Kansas City, Missouri public streets and replacing the structurally deficient N.E. 76th Street bridge; and

 

WHEREAS, Kansas City is working in partnership with Liberty and MoDOT whereby MoDOT is providing project management and oversight which will include bidding and inspecting the project; and

 

WHEREAS, the parties agree that maintenance and ownership of the improvements completed by the project need to be defined; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, a Municipal Agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. A copy of this agreement is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works.

 

Section 2. That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the City Charter in that it relates to a public improvement, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.
