RESOLUTION NO. 920498

 

Expressing the intent of the Council to accept Blue Hills Road, a private street, between 59th and 61st Streets as a public street.

 

WHEREAS, in October, 1912, the City approved the plat of Blue Hills Country Club Addition (the "Plat"); and

 

WHEREAS, the Plat provided for Blue Hills Road as a private street for the exclusive use of the Orient Realty Company, the owners of Lots 22 through 44, and the Blue Hills Club, their successors and assigns; and

 

WHEREAS, on September 9, 1982, the City approved the plat of Citadel Center which reaffirmed the status of Blue Hills Road as a private street; and

 

WHEREAS, the City and property owners now desire that Blue Hills Road be dedicated as a public street from 59th Street to 61st Street; and

 

WHEREAS, the City desires such dedication to improve traffic movements between The Paseo, 59th Street and Citadel Drive, NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Council hereby expresses its intent to accept Blue Hills Road, a private street, between 59th and 61st Streets as public right-of-way provided that all affected property agree to such dedication by the submission of deeds and supporting documentation on or before December 31, 1992.
