ORDINANCE NO. 010527
Approving
a contract with R F Fisher Electric Co. Inc. for Emergency Repair of fire
damage at Birmingham Pump Station; authorizing expenditure of $78,150.00 in
funding therefor; and declaring an emergency.
WHEREAS,
an electrical fire occurred at the Birmingham Pump Station causing significant
damage to electrical equipment and to the cabinet housing, and staff
investigation has determined that emergency repair is needed; and
WHEREAS,
this condition presents an immediate threat to public health and safety; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE
IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section
1. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute, on
behalf of Kansas City, a contract with R F Fisher Electric Co. Inc. for the
emergency repair of the fire damaged area and equipment at the Birmingham Pump
Station in an amount not to exceed $78,150.00.
Section
2. That the Director of Water Services is further authorized to expend up to
the sum of $78,150.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No.
01-811-080-7726-T Sewer Construction to satisfy the cost of this emergency
repair contract.
Section
3. This ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure within the provisions
of Section 15, Article II of the Charter of Kansas City because it is for the
immediate preservation of public property, health and safety and shall take
effect according to that section.

hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit
of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a
cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the
fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation
hereby incurred.
