ORDINANCE NO. 910464

 

Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an agreement with The Children's Mercy Hospital whereby the Hospital will provide health care services to young people for one year beginning May 1, 1991, for which the City will pay $3,434,700.00, and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, on behalf of the City, with Children's Mercy Hospital, a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, to help defray the cost of delivering health care services to young citizens, for a period of one year beginning May 1, 1991 through April 30, 1992.

 

Section 2. That the City's contractual obligation in the amount of $3,434,700.00 from the funds provided in the 1991-92 budget in Account Nos. 001-51205-B and 33-51205-B, "Children's Mercy Hospital", is hereby approved.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, making provision for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage. ___________________________________________________

 

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
