ORDINANCE NO. 100808

 

Estimating revenue and appropriating $100,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance in the General Fund for the new Tire Dealer Registration program.

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 100301, as amended, passed on May 6, 2010, which was approved by the voters on August 3, 2010, authorized a $250.00 annual fee be collected from all tire dealers selling both new and used tires; and

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 100301, as amended, specifically called for the revenue collected from the annual tire permit fees be used for the hiring of two legal investigators whose purpose is to enforce tire dealer and tire hauler regulations; and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to hire two legal investigators for the enforcement of Ordinance No. 100301, as amended; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the revenue in the following account of the General Fund is estimated in the following amount:

 

11-1000-572700-454340 Tire Dealer Registration Fee $100,000.00

 

Section 2. That $100,000.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account in the General Fund:

 

11-1000-572700-A Regulated Industries $100,000.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
