ORDINANCE NO. 050969
Approving the First Modification
to the Troost 53rd-63rd Street Urban Renewal Plan for approximately 0.6 acres
generally located at the northwest corner of 63rd Street and Troost Avenue. (396-S-1)
WHEREAS, by passage
of Ordinance No. 64763, passed February 1, 1990, the City Council approved a
general urban renewal plan for the Troost 53rd-63rd
Street Urban Renewal Project; and
WHEREAS, it is
desirable and in the public interest that the Troost 53rd-63rd
Street Urban Renewal Plan be modified to allow renovation of an existing
building and expansion of parking; and
WHEREAS, a copy
of the amendment has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the
Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, did on
June 22, 2005, adopt Resolution No. 6-01-05 recommending approval of the First
Modification to the Troost 53rd-63rd Street Area to allow
for renovation of an existing building and expansion of parking; and
WHEREAS, the
City Plan Commission reviewed the First Modification to the Troost 53rd-63rd
Street Urban Renewal Plan to allow for renovation of an existing building and
expansion of parking, said recommendation of the City Plan Commission being set
forth on Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, the
plan with this modification is feasible and in conformity with the general plan
for the City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That
the First Modification to the Troost 53rd-63rd Street
Urban Renewal Plan which allows for renovation of an existing building and
expansion of parking is hereby approved. A copy of the First Modification to
the Troost 53rd-63rd Street Urban Renewal Plan is on file
with the office of the City Clerk and is incorporated herein by reference.
Section B. That
the Council has duly made the findings necessary for compliance with Sections
99.320 and 99.430, Revised Statutes of Missouri, as amended.
Section C. That
it is hereby found and determined that all of the findings, determinations and
conclusions made and set forth in the previous ordinances listed above apply
with equal force and effect as of the date of this revision.
Section D. That
said Urban Renewal Plan and amendments are hereby found to be feasible and in
conformance with the Master Plan for the development of the community as a
whole.
