RESOLUTION NO. 100179
Honoring
C. Ted Turney on his retirement after 32 years and 5 months of dedicated
service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri in its Water Services
Department.
WHEREAS, Ted began work with the City of Kansas City, Missouri on
September 19, 1977, as a Street and Sewer Design Engineer in the Public Works
Department; and
WHEREAS, Ted worked as a manager in the Survey and Construction group in
the Water Services Department from 1979 through 1981; and
WHEREAS, Ted worked as a Design/Construction Engineer in the Engineering
Division, Water Services Department from 1982 through 1996; and
WHEREAS, Ted worked as the Environmental Compliance Manager, Industrial
Waste Control, for the Water Services Department from 1997 through 2001: and
WHEREAS, Ted worked as the Manager of the Pipeline Division of the Water
Services Department from 2001 to the present; and
WHEREAS, Ted’s accomplishments during his career with the
City are many and varied; and
WHEREAS, February 28, 2010, marked the last day of Ted’s career with the
City of Kansas City, Missouri; and
WHEREAS, Ted plans to devote more time to his wife, children, and
grandchildren and to Church, the Boy Scouts, Tai Chi, and riding his Harley,
all without any late night water-main breaks; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Mr. C. Ted Turney, on the
occasion of his retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for his
future, together with appreciation for his 32 years and 5 months of dedicated
service to the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes
of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr.
C. Ted Turney in token of their respect and high regard and their best wishes
for the long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
