ORDINANCE NO. 100131

 

Authorizing the Director of Parks and Recreation to enter into a cooperative funding agreement with the United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration for use of Grant Funds for the Climate Sustainability Center Feasibility Study; estimating revenue in the amount of $150,000.00 and appropriating it to the Capital Improvement Fund; designating requisitioning authority; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That an agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Parks and Recreation, and the United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the Parks and Recreation Department will design and conduct a study to assess the economic and environmental feasibility of the proposed Climate Sustainability Center located at Troost Avenue and Brush Creek Boulevard.

 

Section 2. That revenue in the amount of $150,000.00 is hereby estimated in the following account of the Capital Improvements Fund:

 

10-3090-700001- 478223 Feasibility Study – CSC $150,000.00

 

Section 3. That $150,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Capital Improvements Fund to the following account of the Capital Improvements Fund:

 

10-3090-708045-B-G70095902 Feasibility Study – CSC $150,000.00

 

Section 4. That the Director of Parks and Recreation Department is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account Number 10-3090-708045.

 

Section 5. That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the City Charter in that is appropriates money, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
