COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 190229

 

Authorizing the Director of General Services to execute an agreement with Metropolitan Energy Center, Inc., to accept and approve a $492,696.00 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy through Metropolitan Energy Center, Inc., to implement alternative fuel adoptions; estimating revenue in the amount of $125,388.00 in the General Fund, $232,011.00 into the Street Maintenance Fund, and $135,297.00 into the Fleet Services Fund; authoring contract amendments; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of General Services, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with Metropolitan Energy Center, Inc., to accept and approve a $492,696.00 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy through Metropolitan Energy Center, Inc. to implement alternative fuel adoptions by purchasing equipment that support the initiative. A copy of the agreement in substantial form will be on file with the General Service Department.

 

Section 2. That revenue in the following account of the General Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

 

19-1000-070001-484680-G07MECAF MEC Alternative Fuel

Initiative $125,388.00

 

Section 3. That revenue in the following account of the Street Maintenance Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

 

19-2060-070001-486480-G07MECAF MEC Alternative Fuel

Initiative $232,011.00

 

Section 4. That revenue in the following account of the Fleet Services Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

 

19-1151-070001-486480-G07MECAF MEC Alterntaive Fuel

Initiative $135,297.00

 

Section 5. That the Director of General Services is authorized to amend the agreement with Metropolitan Energy Center, Inc., without additional Council authorization.

Section 6. That this ordinance is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(C) of the City Charter in that it shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
