RESOLUTION NO. 060763
Approving an amendment to the Gashland Area Plan for an
approximately 10.07 acre tract of land generally located on the west side of N.
Oak Trafficway, north of N.E. 95th Terrace, by changing the
recommended land use from low density residential uses to commercial uses.
WHEREAS, on February 11, 1977, the City Council, through the adoption of Resolution No. 47383, adopted
the Gashland Area Plan being the Plan for development and redevelopment of that
area bounded by 96th on the north, the city limits of Gladstone on
the south except at the extreme eastern limits which extend south to Pleasant
Valley Road, N. Brighton Avenue on the east and the Clay-Platte County line on
the west; and
WHEREAS, the
Gashland Area Plan was amended through the adoption of Resolution No. 971066 on
October 9, 1997; was amended through the adoption of Resolution No. 980922 on September 24, 1998; was amended through the adoption of Resolution No. 991459 on March 23, 2000; was amended through the adoption of Resolution No. 010516 on April 26, 2001; was amended through the adoption of Resolution No. 011046 on August 23, 2001; was amended through the adoption of Resolution No. 030859 on August 21, 2003; was amended through the adoption of Resolution No. 031394 on April 1, 2004; was amended through the adoption of Resolution No. 050526 on May 26, 2005; and was further amended through the adoption of Resolution 050749 on July 7, 2005; and
WHEREAS, after
further review, it has been deemed appropriate to amend the Gashland area Plan
for an approximately 10.07 acre tract of land generally located on the west
side of N. Oak Trafficway, north of N.E. 95th Terrace, by changing
the recommended land use from low density residential uses to commercial uses;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That
the Gashland Area Plan is hereby amended by amending the Proposed Land Use Plan
and Map for an approximately 10.07 acre tract of land generally located on the
west side of N. Oak Trafficway, north of N. E. 95th Terrace, by
changing the recommended land use from low density residential uses to
commercial uses. A copy of the amendment to the Gashland Area Plan is attached
as Exhibit A and incorporated by reference.
Section B. That
the amendment to the Gashland Area Plan is consistent and complies with the
FOCUS Kansas City Plan, adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas
City Plan.
Section C. That
the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed
amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by law have
been given and had.
