RESOLUTION NO. 190535

 

Approving an amendment to the Longview Area Plan by modifying the Land Use Plan and Map for an area of approximately 1.82 acres generally located on the north side of East Missouri 150 Highway between Peterson Road to the west and Horridge Road to the east by changing the recommended land use designation from low density residential to industrial.

 

WHEREAS, on December 21, 2017, the City Council by adoption of Resolution No. 171016 adopted the Longview Area Plan as a guide for the future development and public investments for that area generally bounded by I-470 to the north, Raytown Road and the City of Grandview to the west, the cities of Belton and Raymore to the south, and the City of Lee’s Summit to the east; and

 

WHEREAS, an application was submitted for a proposed amendment to the Longview Area Plan to modify the Land Use Plan and Map for an area of approximately 1.82 acres generally located on the north side of East Missouri 150 Highway between Peterson Road to the west and Horridge Road to the east by changing the recommended land use designation from low density residential to industrial; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given the opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on May 21, 2019, recommend denial of the proposed amendment to the Longview Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That an amendment to the Longview Area Plan is hereby approved as to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for that area of approximately 1.82 acres generally located on the north side of East Missouri 150 Highway between Peterson Road to the west and Horridge Road to the east by changing the recommended land use designation from low density residential to industrial. A copy of the amendment to the Land Use Plan and Map of the Longview Area Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section B. That the amendment to the Longview Area Plan is consistent with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan, adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held, as required by law.
