ORDINANCE NO. 080414

 

Considering the Kansas City Register nomination for the Pendleton Heights District Expansion I on about 140.29 acres generally bounded by Woodland Avenue on the west, Chestnut Avenue on the east, Independence Avenue on the south and St. John Avenue on the north as required by Section 2.911-920, Administrative Code of the City of Kansas City, Missouri. (250-S-116)

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Pendleton Heights District Expansion I is hereby designated for inclusion in the Kansas City Register of Historic Places.

 

Section 2. That the location is more specifically described as follows:

 

All Lots 2 thru 14, W.H. Collins Investment Companys Second Addition

 

Parts of Lots 1 and 2, in Bouton Park, a subdivision in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, more particularly described as follows: Beginning in the center line of the westerly extension of Pendleton Avenue at a point 111 feet West of the West line of Woodland Avenue from which beginning point a line 150 feet in length will intersect the west line of Woodland Avenue at a point 100 feet south of the foot line, 45 feet, more or less to the northwesterly line of the tract of land conveyed to Leta R. Heath by deed recorded in Book B945, at page 323, thence southwesterly at right angles with said 150 foot line and along the northwestern line of the tract of land so conveyed to said Leta R. Heath, 120 feet to a point; thence northwesterly parallel with the above mentioned 150 line, a distance of 45 feet, more or less, to the southwest corner of the tract of land recorded in the Recorders Office in Book B-744, at page 202; thence due north along the west line of said tract so conveyed in said deed being the easterly line of North Terrace Park, as established by ordinance of Kansas City No. 36887, to a point in the center line of Pendleton Avenue, extended from point of beginning of this description; thence continuing north and northeasterly along the east and easterly line of North Terrace Park by Ordinance No. 36887, to the westerly point of the tract of land conveyed by Ella A. Traber, et al to Kansas City, Missouri by deed recorded in the Recorders Office in Book B1446 at page 357, which said point is the intersection of the northwesterly prolongation of the 150 foot line hereinbefore described with the easterly line of said North Terrace Park, thence southeasterly along said 150 foot line hereinabove described, and its prolongation to the point of beginning, subject to all restrictions, reservations, easements and licenses of record, if any.

A Subdivision in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri Described as Follows: Beginning at a Point 33 Feet Northwesterly from Point in the West Line of Woodland Avenue, 100 Feet South of Centerline of Pendleton Avenue, As said Avenue Lines were Located Prior to 1900, Said Point of Beginning Being Located on a 150 foot Line described in Warranty Deed Dated April 2, 1900 and Records in Book B-744 At Page 2021 Thence in a Northwesterly Direction Along Said 150 Foot Line 33 Feet, Thence in a Southwesterly Direction At Right Angles to Said 150 Foot Line 120 feet; Footline 33 Feet, Thence in a Northwesterly Direction 120 Feet to Point of Beginning.

 

All That Part of Lot 2, Bouton Park, a subdivision in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri described as follows: Beginning at a point 67 feet northwesterly from a point in the West line of Woodland Ave, 100 feet South of the center line of Pendleton Avenue, said beginning point being on 150 foot line running Northwesterly from Said 100 foot point to the intersection with the center line of Pendleton Avenue extended West; thence Southwesterly at right angles with said 150 foot line, 120 feet; thence Northwesterly parallel with said 150 foot line, 38 feet; thence Northeasterly at right angles 120 feet to said 150 foot line; thence along said 150 foot line to the beginning.

A Subdivision in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri Described as Follows: Beginning at a point on the West line of Woodland Avenue, 100 feet South of the center line of Pendleton Avenue extended West, as said avenue lines were located prior to 1900 A.D.; thence deflecting 48 degrees 36 minutes 30 seconds Northwest from said West line of Woodland Avenue, along the Southwesterly line of the tract deeded to Kansas City in document filed August 27, 1912, as Document No. 885352 (said Southwesterly line having also been referred to, in part, in deeds such as the deed filed August 18, 1959, as Documents No. B-317653, In Book B-5233, at Page 676, as the 150 foot line), a distance of 33.5 feet; thence in a Southwesterly direction 120 feet at right angles with said 150 foot line; thence in a Southeasterly direction parallel with said 150 foot line 33.5 feet; thence East to said West line of Woodland Avenue; thence North along said West line of Woodland Avenue to point of beginning.
