ORDINANCE NO. 080142

 

Accepting and approving a $615,000.00 cooperative agreement with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to provide HIV medications and services for persons living with HIV/AIDS living within Missouris seven county TGA (transitional grant area); and declaring an emergency

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a cooperative agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the State will provide medications to persons who are HIV infected and persons who are living with AIDS within Missouris seven county TGA area for the period of March 1, 2007 through February 29, 2008, for an amount not to exceed $615,000.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 08-2730-505003-B, is hereby authorized. A copy of the agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That this ordinance is declared an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the City Charter in that it relates to the immediate preservation of the public health, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
