RESOLUTION NO. 100291

 

Adopting an Article to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement with Local 42, I.A.F.F., related to former MAST personnel.

 

WHEREAS, Local 42, I.A.F.F., is recognized by the Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust (MAST) as the exclusive bargaining unit representing members who are classified as emergency medical technicians, paramedics, EMT system status controllers, paramedic system status controllers, medical supply technicians and vehicle maintenance technicians in MAST; and

 

WHEREAS, as a result of the integration of ambulance services into the Fire Department, the members of Local 42 who are currently in MAST will become City employees in the Fire Department on April 25, 2010; and

 

WHEREAS, Local 42 is recognized by the City as the exclusive bargaining unit representing regular employees, excluding supervisors, managerial and confidential employees, and excluding employees represented by Locals 3808, I.A.F.F. and Local 500, A.F.S.C.M.E.; and

 

WHEREAS, the designated representatives of the City and Local 42 have met and negotiated an agreement to be memorialized in an Article to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and Local 42 concerning compensation, benefits and working conditions for the above described Local 42 members who are currently employed by MAST and who will become City employees; and

 

WHEREAS, the above described article to the current collective bargaining agreement between the City and Local 42 is submitted to the City Council for adoption, modification or rejection; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

  BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Article to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and Local 42, I.A.F.F., memorializing the agreement between the designated representatives of the City and Local 42 concerning compensation, benefits and working conditions for the Local 42 members who are currently employed by MAST and who will become City employees of the Fire Department on April 25, 2010, is hereby adopted as part of such Collective Bargaining Agreement. A copy of the Article is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
