Recognizing the retirement of Keith Cadenhead after 28 years of service to the City.


WHEREAS, Keith Cadenhead has announced his retirement from the City of Kansas City, Missouri, effective April 30, 2008, having served 28 years; and


WHEREAS, Keith was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, graduated from the Kansas City, Missouri School District, attended UMKC for 2 years working towards a degree in Business Administration, acquired a license as a Universal Technician in Heating and Air Conditioning, married Perri Giles, founded the Ambassador Kruzers, a community based non-profit organizationsupporting the urban core with clean up efforts, and is a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Outreach Center; and


WHEREAS, Keith and Perri parented two sons, Clarence and Keith, both of whom graduated from college and are productive members of the community. Clarence and daughter in-law Rainy have made Keith and Perri the proud grandparents of two beautiful granddaughters, Tiana and Camryn; and


WHEREAS, Keith was employed at St. Joseph Hospital, Halls at Crown Center before coming to the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and


WHEREAS, Keith started March 3, 1980, with Pollution Control as an Equipment Operator, in 1982 promoted to Labor Leader with Water Purification, in 1985 promoted to General Supervisor with the Convention Center, in l992 transferred to Parks and Recreation as a General Supervisor, and in 2003 promoted to the Public Works Department-Traffic Signal Construction Section as a Maintenance Supervisor; and


WHEREAS, after retiring, Keith plans to travel, spend time with his grandchildren, play golf, ride his motorcycle and do volunteer work; NOW, THEREFORE,




That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize the retirement of Keith Cadenhead after 28 years of service to the City; and


BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Keith Cadenhead in recognition of his splendid service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and its citizens.
