ORDINANCE NO. 120721

Approving and authorizing settlement of a claim on a Workers’ Compensation case filed by Judy McDonald for injuries resulting from an accident on February 3, 2011, while employed by the City.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That settlement of the claim for Judy McDonald against the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for any and all injuries resulting from an accident, more fully set forth and subject of a formal claim, Case No. 11-055532, presently pending before the Division of Workers’ Compensation of the State of Missouri, by payment to Judy McDonald of the sum of $36,835.04 is recommended by the City Attorney, and is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to pay the sum of $36,835.04 in settlement of said claim from funds heretofore appropriated in the Cumulative Claim Reserve Fund – Workers’ Compensation Account No. 13-1011-131540-B.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
