RESOLUTION NO. 120267

 

Amending the Kansas City International Airport Area Plan on about 20 acres generally located at northeast corner of Missouri Route 152 and N. Green Hills Road by changing the recommended land use from residential-medium density to commercial. (247-S-116).

 

WHEREAS, on June 18, 2009, the City Council by Resolution No.090395 adopted the KCIA Area Plan with the KCI Area Plan as a guide for the future development and public investment within the area bounded by the city limits of Kansas City, Missouri on the north, city limits to Amity and then along Highway 152 on the south, Platte/Clay County boundary on the east, and city limits of Kansas City, Missouri on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, an application was submitted by Scott Nuttleman, Menards, Inc., to amend the Kansas City International Airport Area Plan as it affects a 20 acre tract of land area generally located at northeast corner of MO. Route 152 and N. Green Hills Road by changing the recommended land use from residential-medium density to commercial; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map on March 6, 2012; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on March 6, 2012, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Kansas City International Airport Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Kansas City International Airport Area Plan is hereby amended as to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for a 20 acre tract of land area generally located at northeast corner of MO. Route 152 and N. Green Hills Road by changing the recommended land use from residential-medium density to commercial. A copy of the amendment to the Kansa City International Airport Area Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit A and is incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section B. That the amendment to the Kansas City International Airport Area Plan is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed area plan amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
