ORDINANCE NO. 960280

 

Authorizing a contract amendment to increase funding by $50,000.00 to the Northland Health Care Access contract previously approved by Ordinance No. 950485; authorizing the Health Department to retain $1,500.00 as provided in the contract to partially offset administering the agreement; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. Authorizing an amendment to the current contract, previously approved by Ordinance No. 950485, between the City, acting through its Director of Health, and Northland Health Care Access, a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, whereby Northland will provide medical care for the City's indigent citizens for a one year period beginning May 1, 1995 through April 30, 1996, for which the City will increase funding in the amount of $50,000.00 from funds provided in the 1995-96 Budget Ordinance No. 950410 in Account No. 96-233-051-2135-F. A copy of the agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the amount of $1,500.00, as specified in the agreement, may be retained by the Health Department to partially offset the cost of administering the agreement and may be used in such manner and for such purposes as the Director of Health may determine.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, making provisions for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is hereby recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
