ORDINANCE NO. 070141

Appropriating $500,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Health Levy and authorizing a $500,000.00 contract amendment with the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center for indigent health care services.

WHEREAS, the City remains committed to the provision of indigent health care in this City; and

WHEREAS, this ordinance will supplement the funding to Samuel Rodgers and further stabilize their financial operations; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the sum of $500,000.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Health Levy to the following account in the Health Levy:

07-2330-512139-F Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center $500,000.00

Section 2. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to amend and increase the Citys primary indigent care contract with Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center by the amount of $500,000.00 for a total contract amount $1,711,731.00 for the year ending April 30, 2007.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
