ORDINANCE NO. 900595
Accepting and approving an amendment to the existing
contract between the City and the Missouri Department of Health whereby the
State will provide $9,306.00 in additional funding for a position in the Sexually
Transmitted Disease Program for a five-month period beginning August 1, 1990,
estimating revenue and appropriating funds in that amount and recognizing an
emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That amendment number five (5) to the
contract between the Missouri Department of Health and the City of Kansas City,
acting through the Director of Health, whereby the State agrees to provide
financial support for a certain position in the Sexually Transmitted Disease
Program (STD), in the amount of $9,306.00 to be expended between August 1,
1990, and December 31, 1990, is hereby accepted and approved. The total
financial obligation of that contract as amended shall not exceed $353,592.00
for a period of one year beginning January 1, 1990. A copy of the amendment is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the revenue in the following
account of the General Fund is hereby re-estimated in the following additional
amount:
1-61532 Venereal Disease Control Grant 1990
$9,306.00
Section 3. That the sum of $9,306.00 is hereby
appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund Account
No. 1-801, to the following account in the following amount:
1-50204-A Sexually Transmitted Disease
$9,306.00
Section 4. That this ordinance, making provision
for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public
health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article
II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect
immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
