Approving and accepting a contract with the Missouri Department of Health whereby the City will conduct a program to increase awareness of heart disease for one year beginning October 1, 1993, for which the State will provide $48,216.00 in funding and adjusting revenue estimates and reducing appropriations to reflect that funding.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That a contract between the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department, acting through the Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health, acting through its Director of Health, whereby the City will conduct a program in the schools and with community groups to increase awareness of the causes and risk factors associated with heart disease, for the period of October 1, 1993 to September 30, 1994, for which the State will provide funding in the amount of $48,216.00 is hereby approved and accepted. A copy of the contract is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That the following revenue account of the General Fund is hereby reduced in the following amount:

94-100-050-7297 Hypertension Grant 93 $2,938.00

Section 3. That the following revenue account of the General Fund is hereby reduced in the following amount:

94-100-050-7298 Hypertension Grant 94 $3,250.00

Section 4. That the following appropriation account of the General Fund is hereby reduced in the following amount:

94-100-050-2330A Hypertension $6,188.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
